bath time

someday i will have a child who adores baths as much as i always have. when they are little i will put them in the tub with a bucket of army men and they will get lost in a battle. as they get older i will find library books sitting next to a bath discarded and perhaps a bit water logged.
my husband will get annoyed when the bill comes for all the hot water, and perhaps the siblings will be annoyed by the fact that several hours will have elapsed while that one child is in reading a book, or perhaps even taking a quick snooze.
but i will be okay with this all.
i will allow him or her to refill the bathtub with hot water thirty minutes later when the water had all turned cold. i will not scoff at them when they ask to take a bath at all hours of the night. i will teach them the wonders of baths in the middle of the night if they are chilled. i will convince my husband to purchase the big tub with the slanted back and perhaps even the jets. i will always have bubble bath on hand and if not dawn soap. i will keep my towels fluffy and big. when they are younger i will spray shaving cream on the walls for the kids to play with, and when they are older i will allow candles to be placed around the edge of the tub. i will not set limits on baths at all....

...because baths are gods gift to earth. i pray i have at least one child who adores them as i do. oh how i hope.
